the Bible's Perspective
Exodus 3:15God said moreover to Moses, “You shall tell the children of Israel this, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations.
Isaiah 26:4Trust in the LORD forever; for in the LORD, the LORD, is an everlasting Rock.
John 8:23-24He said to them, “You are from beneath. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world. I said therefore to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.”
John 8:58Jesus said to them, “Most certainly, I tell you, before Abraham came into existence, I AM.”
the Quran's Perspective
Al-A'raf (The Heights) 7:180Allah's are the fairest names. Invoke Him by them. And leave the company of those who blaspheme His names. They will be requited what they do.
Al-Isra' (The Night Journey) 17:110Say (unto mankind): Cry unto Allah, or cry unto the Beneficent, unto whichsoever ye cry (it is the same). His are the most beautiful names. And thou (Muhammad), be not loud-voiced in thy worship nor yet silent therein, but follow a way between.
Notes
God’s special and eternal name “Yahweh” is used 6,823 times in the Bible but is not found at all among the 99 names of God (Esmaul-Husna) in the Quran. Cf. Quran 20:8, Quran 55:78 & Quran 59:24.
