133. Does God want believers today to live under the law? (Sheri’at)

Romans 3:20Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

Romans 3:28We maintain therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

Romans 6:14For sin will not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.

Romans 10:4For Christ is the fulfilment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Galatians 3:11Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for, “The righteous will live by faith.”

Galatians 3:25But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

Al-Ma'ida (the Table spread) 5:48And unto thee have We revealed the Scripture with the truth, confirming whatever Scripture was before it, and a watcher over it. So judge between them by that which Allah hath revealed, and follow not their desires away from the truth which hath come unto thee. For each We have appointed a divine law and a traced-out way. Had Allah willed He could have made you one community. But that He may try you by that which He hath given you (He hath made you as ye are). So vie one with another in good works. Unto Allah ye will all return, and He will then inform you of that wherein ye differ.

Al-Jathiya (Kneeling) 45:18And now have We set thee (O Muhammad) on a clear road of (Our) commandment; so follow it, and follow not the whims of those who know not.
