57. Can spiritual gifts be imparted from one believer to another by the laying on of hands?
the Bible Yes
No the Quran
the Bible's Perspective
Romans 1:1Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the Good News of God,
1 Timothy 4:14-15Don’t neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the elders. Be diligent in these things. Give yourself wholly to them, that your progress may be revealed to all.
2 Timothy 1:6For this cause, I remind you that you should stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
Hebrews 6:1-2Therefore leaving the teaching of the first principles of Christ, let’s press on to perfection—not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith towards God, of the teaching of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgement.
the Quran's Perspective
In the Qur’an there is no mention of the laying on of hands for the impartation of spiritual gifts. Cf. Romans 1:11, 2 Thessalonians 2:8 & 1 Timothy 4:14-16.
