Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 74, Hadith 50 (In-Book) ⓘ

Narrated Jabir: Allah's Messenger said, "Extinguish the lamps when you go to bed; close your doors; tie the mouths of your water skins, and cover the food and drinks." I think he added, "... even with a stick you place across the container."

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ أَطْفِئُوا الْمَصَابِيحَ إِذَا رَقَدْتُمْ، وَغَلِّقُوا الأَبْوَابَ، وَأَوْكُوا الأَسْقِيَةَ، وَخَمِّرُوا الطَّعَامَ وَالشَّرَابَ ـ وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ ـ وَلَوْ بِعُودٍ تَعْرُضُهُ عَلَيْهِ ‏" ‏‏.‏
