Bulugh al-Maram, Book 1, Hadith 12 (English) ⓘ

Narrated Abu Huraira (rad): Narrated by Abu Huraira (rad): Allah’s Messenger said: “The cleansing of the utensil belonging to one of you, after it has been licked by a dog, is to wash it seven times, and using soil for cleaning at the first time.” [Muslim reported it].

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏- رضى الله عنه ‏- قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-{ طَهُورُ إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ إِذْ وَلَغَ فِيهِ اَلْكَلْبُ أَنْ يَغْسِلَهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ, أُولَاهُنَّ بِالتُّرَابِ } أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ (15)‏.‏ ‏2 ‏- صحيح.‏ رواه مسلم (279)‏ (91)‏.‏

Another version has: “he should spill the content”.

وَفِي لَفْظٍ لَهُ: { فَلْيُرِقْهُ } (16)‏.‏ ‏3 ‏- مسلم (279)‏ (89)‏.‏

At-Tirmidhi’s version has “using soil at the first or last time”.

وَلِلتِّرْمِذِيِّ: { أُخْرَاهُنَّ, أَوْ أُولَاهُنَّ بِالتُّرَابِ } (17)‏.‏ ‏4 ‏- سنن الترمذي (91)‏، وعنده زيادة أخرى، وهي: "وإذا ولغت فيه الهرة، غسل مرة".‏ قلت: وهي زيادة صحيحة كما بينت ذلك في "ناسخ الحديث ومنسوخه" لابن شاهين رقم (140)‏.‏
