Sahih Muslim , Hadith 1416 ⓘ

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger prohibited Shighar. Ibn Numair added: Shighar means that a person should say to the other person: Give me the hand of your daughter in marriage and I will (in return) marry my daughter to you; or merry me your sister, and I will marry my sister to you.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ الشِّغَارِ ‏.‏ زَادَ ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ وَالشِّغَارُ أَنْ يَقُولَ الرَّجُلُ لِلرَّجُلِ زَوِّجْنِي ابْنَتَكَ وَأُزَوِّجُكَ ابْنَتِي أَوْ زَوِّجْنِي أُخْتَكَ وَأُزَوِّجُكَ أُخْتِي ‏.‏

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibn Vmar with the same chain of transmitters, but there is no mention of Ibn Numair.

وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ - بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ زِيَادَةَ ابْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ‏.‏
