Sahih Muslim , Hadith 2035 ⓘ

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: When any one of you eats food he should lick his fingers, for he does not know in what part of the food sticking to his fingers the blessing lies.

وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَلْعَقْ أَصَابِعَهُ فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَدْرِي فِي أَيَّتِهِنَّ الْبَرَكَةُ ‏" ‏ ‏.‏

This hadith has been reported on the authority of Hammad with the same chain of transmitters, but with a slight variation of wording.

وَحَدَّثَنِيهِ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَهْدِيٍّ - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏"‏ وَلْيَسْلُتْ أَحْدُكُمُ الصَّحْفَةَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ ‏"‏ فِي أَىِّ طَعَامِكُمُ الْبَرَكَةُ أَوْ يُبَارَكُ لَكُمْ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
