The authority of Scripture

The claim that the Bible has been corrupted is one of the most common objections that our Muslim friends will raise when we share the Gospel with them. Here are a number of approaches that will help us show that the Bible is fully trustworthy and that the Gospel should be taken seriously.

Jesus our unchanged Word

Christians and Muslims view their Scriptures differently. While Muslims claim the Quran is preserved on tablets in heaven, for Christians our unchanged Word is a person, the Lord Jesus who is the same, yesterday, today and forever. »

God the all-powerful and most loving

The only two reasons God would allow the Bible to be changed would be if he were not powerful enough to protect it, or if he did not care. »

The Dead Sea Scrolls confirm the reliability of the text over a period of one thousand years. Jesus also affirmed the reliability of Scripture on many occasions. »

Promise maker? Promise Keeper!

Both the Bible and Quran state that God makes promises and keeps them. If God didn't protect his transmission of promises, how would we know he has kept them, especially when considering promises about Muhammed for example? »

Archaeology has shown the New Testament to be incredibly reliable when referencing historical details, suggesting that it is trustworthy in its witness to Christ, His death and Resurrection.
