Quran 72:3 Translations

Al-Jinn (The Jinn) 72:3

وَأَنَّهُ تَعَالَى جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا اتَّخَذَ صَاحِبَةً وَلَا وَلَدًا

Transliteration

Waannahu taAAala jaddu rabbina ma ittakhatha sahibatan wala waladan

Ahmad Ali

Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son.

Ali Qarai

Exalted be the majesty of our Lord; He has taken neither any spouse nor son.

Amhad Khan

‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme – He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’

Arberry

He -- exalted be our Lord's majesty! has not taken to Himself either consort or a son.

And that He - Exalted is (the) Majesty (of) our Lord - not He has taken a wife and not a son,
