Allah’s Attributes

Those who lack knowledge say, 'Why does Allah not speak to us directly or send us a sign?' Those before them said the same; their hearts are alike. We have made the signs clear for those who have certainty.

Signs for people of sure faith.

Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, the alternation of night and day, the ships that sail the seas for the benefit of humanity, the rain sent down to revive the earth, the creatures scattered across it, the shifting of the winds, and the clouds held between heaven and earth, these are signs for those who reflect.

He explains His signs for those who understand.

See how We clarify the signs, so that they may understand.

Indeed, in these are signs for people who believe.

We have made the signs clear for those who understand.

And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will take heed?

In this are signs for those who listen.

Surely in this are signs for those who contemplate.

In this are signs for those who reflect.

In this are signs for those who reason.

Surely in that is a lesson for those with insight.

In this are signs for those who are patient

Signs for those who are mindful.

This is how We clarify the signs for those who are grateful.

Surely in that are signs, and We always test.

Surely this is a sign, but most of them do not believe.

Remember His favour upon you

Remember Allah’s blessings and the covenant He made with you when you said, “We hear and obey.”,

That you may mount their backs, and remember your Lord’s favor as you sit firmly upon them, saying, “Glory be to Him who placed these at our service, we could not have done so on our own.”

Remember His blessings upon you and the wisdom He has sent down for your guidance.

O humanity, remember Allah’s blessings upon you.

If not for Allah’s grace and mercy upon you, a group among them would have led you astray.

Yet after that, you turned away. Had it not been for Allah’s grace and mercy, you would have surely been lost.

If not for Allah’s grace and mercy, you would have followed Satan, except for a few.

Every blessing you enjoy comes from Him. Yet when hardship touches you, you cry out to Him alone.

Whatever mercy Allah opens up for people, no one can withhold. And whatever He withholds, no one else can release.

Allah favours whomever He wills among His servants.

His favour upon you is truly great.

And be grateful for His blessings, if you truly worship Him.

If you tried to count Allah’s blessings, you could never enumerate them

That is Allah’s favour, granted to whom He wills.

Remember when Moses said to his people, “O my people! Recall Allah’s favour upon you

Allah does as He wills.

Allah extends provision to whom He wills and restricts it.

Say, ‘All bounty is in Allah’s hand, He grants it to whomever He wills.

Allah multiplies for whomever He wills

In Allah’s victory, He grants triumph to whom He wills.

Allah gives kingship to whomever He wills

It is Allah who elevates whoever He wills

But Allah chooses whom He wills for His mercy

He grants wisdom to whomever He wills, and whoever receives wisdom has been granted immense goodness. Yet only those with understanding take heed

But you cannot will unless Allah wills.

He grants His favour to whomever He wills.

The earth belongs to Allah; He grants it to whomever He wills.

He chooses messengers for this knowledge as He wills.

Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself those who turn to Him.

This is Allah’s guidance, by which He guides whomever He wills among His servants.

He sends the Spirit by His command to whomever He wills among His servants, to warn of the Day of Meeting.

Whoever Allah misguides, you will find no way for them.

If He wills, He removes your distress. Yet you forget Him when relief comes.

He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills

Allah accepts repentance from whomever He wills.

Those who associate others with Allah will say, “Had Allah willed, we would not have worshipped others, nor would our forefathers, nor would we have forbidden anything.” Likewise, those before them denied until they tasted Our punishment. Say, “Do you have any knowledge to support this? You follow only assumptions and fabricate lies.”

Your Lord creates and chooses whatever He wills. They have no choice in the matter.

Satan threatens you with poverty and commands you to commit indecency, while Allah promises you forgiveness and abundance.

If Allah afflicts you with hardship, none can remove it except Him. And if He wills good for you, none can prevent His favour. He grants it to whomever He wills among His servants.

Say, ‘All bounty is in Allah’s hand, He grants it to whomever He wills.'

Say, “In Allah’s grace and mercy, let them rejoice, it is better than all they accumulate.”

Out of His mercy, He made for you the night and the day, so you may rest and seek His bounty, and so you may be grateful.

He made the sea serve you, so you may eat from it tender meat and extract ornaments to wear. You see ships ploughing through it as you seek His bounty, so that you may be grateful.

Your Lord is the One who makes ships sail the seas so you may seek His bounty.

There is no blame in seeking the bounty of your Lord during pilgrimage.

Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger will be among those whom Allah has blessed, the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous.

That is the bounty from Allah.

As for those who believe and do good, He will grant them their reward in full and increase them in His bounty.

So that He may reward those who believe and do good from His bounty. He does not love the disbelievers.

As for those who believe in Allah and hold fast to Him, He will admit them into His mercy and grace and guide them straight to Himself.

Give glad tidings to the believers that they will receive immense grace from Allah.

And they say, ‘Only trust those who follow your faith.’ Say, ‘True guidance is Allah’s guidance.’ If they fear that someone else may receive knowledge like theirs or argue against them before their Lord, say, ‘All bounty is in Allah’s hand, He grants it to whomever He wills.

“He is the One who settled us in the Home of Everlasting Peace, by His grace.

He will give them their full reward and increase them from His bounty.

Race toward forgiveness from your Lord and a paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His messengers. That is Allah’s grace, which He grants to whom He wills. He is the Lord of infinite bounty.

Know that your wealth and children are a test, and with Allah is a great reward.

To all, We extend provision, both to these and those. But the bounty of your Lord is not restricted.

Men will have their share of what they earn, and women will have their share of what they earn. Ask Allah for His bounty.

Surely your Lord is full of grace toward humanity, but most of them are ungrateful.

If fortune comes your way, they say, as if no bond ever existed between you, ‘Oh, I wish I had been with them to gain such success!’.

If only they had been content with what Allah and His Messenger gave them and said, “Allah is sufficient for us. He will grant us from His bounty, and so will His Messenger. To Allah alone we turn with hope.”

Some among them pledged to Allah, saying, “If He grants us wealth, we will surely give charity and be righteous.”

But when He gave them wealth, they became stingy and turned away in defiance.

Those who are stingy and encourage others to be stingy, hiding what Allah has given them

Those who hoard wealth and refuse to spend in Allah’s cause should not think it is good for them. Rather, it will be a burden around their necks on the Day of Judgment.

Say, “Have you considered the provisions Allah has sent down for you, which you have divided into lawful and unlawful?” Say, “Did Allah permit this, or do you invent lies against Him?”.

Eat what is lawful and good from what Allah has provided.

And that He enriches and satisfies

Allah is gentle with His servants; He provides for whomever He wills.

You provide for whomever You will without limit.’

Allah extends provision abundantly or restricts it for whomever He wills.

Allah has favoured some of you over others in provision. Yet those who are given more do not share their wealth equally with their dependents. Will they then deny Allah’s blessings?

Every creature on earth depends on Allah for sustenance. He knows where it dwells and where it rests.

Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter, We shall increase it for him.

What you have will perish, but what is with Allah remains. We will reward those who are patient with the best of what they used to do.

Whoever seeks the rewards of this world should know that Allah holds the rewards of both this life and the next.

With Allah is a great reward.

Allah will reward the grateful.

These will receive a great reward.

But those who stand in awe of their unseen Lord, for them is forgiveness and a great reward.

The greatest reward is Allah’s pleasure.

Allah is with you and will never deprive you of your deeds.

He never lets the reward of the faithful go to waste.

So, believe in Allah and His messengers, if you do, and remain mindful, you will receive a great reward.

Allah multiplies for whomever He wills

If there is good, He multiplies it and grants from His reward.

If you obey, Allah will grant you a fine reward.

He granted you all that you asked for. If you tried to count Allah’s blessings, you could never enumerate them.

We reward those who do good.

Marry off the single among you and the righteous among your servants. If they are poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty.

When We grant people mercy after hardship, they plot against Our signs. Say, “Allah is swifter in plotting.” Our messengers record all they plot.

They plotted, but their schemes are known to Allah, even if their plans could move mountains.

They plotted, but Allah also plotted, and Allah is the best of plotters.

So, observe the outcome of their plot. We destroyed them and their people altogether.

Those before them plotted, but ultimate plotting belongs to Allah. He knows what every soul earns, and the disbelievers will know who will have the final home.

Whether We show you part of what We promise them or take you in death, your duty is only to convey, and Ours is the reckoning.

Is He not the One who responds to the desperate when they call upon Him, removes their hardship, and makes you inheritors of the earth?

Is He not the One who guides you through the darkness of land and sea, and sends the winds as good news before His mercy?

Allah is swift in reckoning.

Remember when you were on the near side of the valley, and they were on the far side, with the caravan below you.

Allah showed them to you in your dream as few. Had He shown them as many, you would have faltered and disputed in the matter. But Allah saved you, He knows what is within hearts.

And when you met them, He made them appear few in your eyes, and made you appear few in theirs, so that Allah might fulfil His decree. To Allah all matters return.

The hypocrites and those with diseased hearts said, “God and His Messenger promised us nothing but deception.”

Call upon your Lord humbly and privately. He does not love the transgressors.

Your Lord says, "Call upon Me, and I will respond to you.

So, call upon Him with sincere devotion. Praise be to Allah.

Say: Who rescues you from the darkness of land and sea, when you call upon Him in desperation, saying, "If You save us, we will surely be grateful"?

Say: It is Allah who delivers you from it and from every distress, yet still, you associate others with Him.

No intercessor exists except by His permission.

Say: He has the power to send punishment upon you from above or below, or to divide you into factions, making you taste the conflict among yourselves.

Then We save Our messengers and those who believe. It is Our duty to save the faithful.

Allah loves those who do good.

Allah loves the righteous.

Allah loves the steadfast.

Allah loves the just.

Truly, Allah loves those who fight in His cause as one solid rank.

Allah loves those who rely on Him.

Allah loves those who turn to Him and those who purify themselves.

Allah does not love the transgressors.

Allah does not love corruption.

He does not love the sinful disbelievers.

Allah does not love the disbelievers.

Allah does not love the wrongdoers.

Allah does not love the arrogant and boastful.

Allah does not love public expressions of evil, except by those who have been wronged.

Allah does not love the corrupt.

Do not be excessive, for Allah does not love those who waste.

Allah does not love the treacherous.

Race toward forgiveness from your Lord.

Seek forgiveness from Allah.

Seek forgiveness from your Lord and turn to Him in repentance. He will grant you a good life for a set term and bestow His grace upon those who do good.

Allah has promised those who believe and do good a great reward.

Whoever commits wrongdoing or harms themselves but then seeks Allah’s forgiveness will find Him Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

But to those who commit wrong out of ignorance, then repent and reform, your Lord is Forgiving.

Allah has pardoned such matters.

He will set your deeds right and forgive your sins.

He has granted them (believers) ranks of honour, forgiveness, and mercy.

Allah accepts repentance from whomever He wills.

Allah promises you forgiveness and abundance.

He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills.

Allah has pardoned what is past, but whoever repeats it, Allah will exact justice from them.

Allah does not forgive those who associate partners with Him, but He forgives anything else for whomever He wills. Whoever sets up partners with Allah has strayed far.

But repentance is not for those who persist in wrongdoing until death approaches and they say, ‘Now I repent,’ nor for those who die in disbelief.

Allah has promised the best.

Say, ‘Allah speaks the truth, so follow the way of Abraham, who was upright and never among the polytheists.’

So be patient, Allah’s promise is true. Let not those who lack certainty unsettle you.

Whether We show you some of what We promised them or take you before it happens, their return is to Us.

Do not think that Allah will fail in His promise to His messengers.

What you are promised will surely come to pass, and you cannot escape.

He never fails in His promise.

Say: Allah’s guidance is the true guidance, and we are commanded to submit to the Lord of all worlds.

Who measured and guided.

Whoever Allah guides is truly guided, but whoever He leaves astray will find no protector.

We showed him the path; whether he chooses gratitude or denial is his own.

Say, “To Allah belongs the ultimate argument. Had He willed, He would have guided you all.”

This has been Allah’s way with those before, and you will find no change in His decree.

You’ll never find any change in Allah’s way.

Allah is not to be frustrated by anything in the heavens or the earth.

Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself those who turn to Him.

Allah guides whomever He wills to the Straight Path.

Had Allah willed, He could have made you one community, but He leaves some to stray and guides others.

This is Allah’s guidance, by which He guides whomever He wills among His servants.

And whoever Allah guides, none can mislead.

Allah does not misguide a people after guiding them until He makes clear what they should avoid.

Whoever Allah guides is truly guided.

Say, “Allah guides to the truth. Is one who guides more worthy to be followed, or one who cannot guide unless guided himself?

Say: “If I go astray, I stray only to my own loss. But if I am guided, it is by what my Lord reveals to me."

Say, “Each acts according to his nature, but your Lord knows best who is rightly guided.”

Whoever Allah leaves to stray, none can guide.

Those who reject Allah’s signs will not be guided.

Allah does not guide the disbelievers.

Allah does not guide the rebellious.

He does not guide the deceitful.

Allah does not guide the transgressor."

Allah does not guide the schemes of the treacherous.”

Say, “What testimony is the greatest?” Say, “Allah is Witness between you and me.

Allah is witness to what they do.

Say, “Allah is sufficient as a witness between me and you. He knows and sees His servants.”

Sufficient for believers

“Allah is sufficient as a witness between us and you. We were unaware of your worship.”

Surely, Allah is witness over all things.

But those who persist in disbelief and die as deniers, upon them is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all of humanity.

Their punishment is that upon them is Allah’s curse, as well as the curse of the angels and all of humanity.

If anyone argues with you after knowledge has come to you, say, ‘Come, let us gather ourselves and you, our children and your children, our women and your women, then let us sincerely pray and invoke Allah’s curse upon the liars.’

Then a caller will proclaim, “May Allah’s curse be upon the wrongdoers.

So may Allah’s curse be upon the disbelievers.

Say, “To Allah belongs the ultimate argument.

The command of Allah has come, so do not hasten it.

If Allah supports you, no one can overcome you. But if He abandons you, who else can help? So let the believers put their trust in Allah.

Whoever seeks honour, know that all honour belongs to Allah. To Him ascends pure speech, and He elevates righteous action.

Whoever does not respond to the caller of Allah will not escape on earth, and he will have no protectors besides Him. They are in clear error.”

know that you cannot escape Allah, neither on earth nor in the heavens.

We realized we could never escape Allah on earth, nor flee from Him by running.
