Relative, Poor, Traveller
They ask you what they should spend. Say, ‘Whatever you give should be for parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, and travellers.
2:215They ask thee, (O Muhammad), what they shall spend. Say: that which ye spend for good (must go) to parents and near kindred and orphans and the needy and the wayfarer. And whatsoever good ye do, lo! Allah is Aware of it.
True righteousness is in one who gives wealth, despite loving it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, travellers, and those who ask for help, and for freeing slaves.
2:177It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces to the East and the West; but righteous is he who believeth in Allah and the Last Day and the angels and the Scripture and the prophets; and giveth wealth, for love of Him, to kinsfolk and to orphans and the needy and the wayfarer and to those who ask, and to set slaves free; and observeth proper worship and payeth the poor-due. And those who keep their treaty when they make one, and the patient in tribulation and adversity and time of stress. Such are they who are sincere. Such are the Allah-fearing.
4:36And serve Allah. Ascribe no thing as partner unto Him. (Show) kindness unto parents, and unto near kindred, and orphans, and the needy, and unto the neighbour who is of kin (unto you) and the neighbour who is not of kin, and the fellow-traveller and the wayfarer and (the slaves) whom your right hands possess. Lo! Allah loveth not such as are proud and boastful,
8:41And know that whatever ye take as spoils of war, lo! a fifth thereof is for Allah, and for the messenger and for the kinsman (who hath need) and orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, if ye believe in Allah and that which We revealed unto Our slave on the Day of Discrimination, the day when the two armies met. And Allah is Able to do all things.
9:60The alms are only for the poor and the needy, and those who collect them, and those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and to free the captives and the debtors, and for the cause of Allah, and (for) the wayfarer; a duty imposed by Allah. Allah is Knower, Wise.
They are those who repent, worship, praise, travel for His sake, bow, prostrate, enjoin good, forbid evil, and uphold Allah’s limits. Give good news to the believers.
9:112(Triumphant) are those who turn repentant (to Allah), those who serve (Him), those who praise (Him), those who fast, those who bow down, those who fall prostrate (in worship), those who enjoin the right and who forbid the wrong and those who keep the limits (ordained) of Allah - And give glad tidings to believers!
Give your relatives their due, as well as the needy and the traveller, but do not squander your wealth wastefully.
17:26Give the kinsman his due, and the needy, and the wayfarer, and squander not (thy wealth) in wantonness.
So, give your relatives their due, and the needy, and the traveller. That is best for those who seek Allah’s pleasure; these are the successful.
30:38So give to the kinsman his due, and to the needy, and to the wayfarer. That is best for those who seek Allah's Countenance. And such are they who are successful.
Whatever gains Allah turned over to His Messenger from the people of the towns belongs to Allah, the Messenger, close relatives, orphans, the needy, and the traveller, so that wealth does not circulate only among the rich among you.
59:7That which Allah giveth as spoil unto His messenger from the people of the townships, it is for Allah and His messenger and for the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, that it become not a commodity between the rich among you. And whatsoever the messenger giveth you, take it. And whatsoever he forbiddeth, abstain (from it). And keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is stern in reprisal.
If you must turn away from those in need due to a lack of resources, then speak to them kindly.
17:28But if thou turn away from them, seeking mercy from thy Lord, for which thou hopest, then speak unto them a reasonable word.
Do not keep your hand clenched, nor open it completely, lest you end up blameworthy and destitute.
17:29And let not thy hand be chained to thy neck nor open it with a complete opening, lest thou sit down rebuked, denuded.
