Sent

And Elijah was indeed one of the messengers.

37:123And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn),

He said to his people, “Will you not be mindful?

37:124When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)?

Do you call on Baal and abandon the Best of Creators

37:125Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators,

Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors?”

37:126Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers?

But they rejected him, so they will be brought to judgment

37:127But they denied him, so they surely will be haled forth (to the doom)

Except for Allah’s devoted servants.

37:128Save single-minded slaves of Allah.

We left his name among later generations

37:129And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation):

“Peace be upon Elijah.”

37:130Peace be unto Elias!

This is how We reward those who do good.

37:131Lo! thus do We reward the good.

He was truly one of Our faithful servants.

37:132Lo! he is one of our believing slaves.
