Punishment
As for Ad, they grew arrogant upon the earth, defying justice, and said, “Who is mightier than us?” Did they not see that Allah, who created them, is mightier than they? Yet they continued to deny Our signs.
41:15As for A'ad, they were arrogant in the land without right, and they said: Who is mightier than us in power? Could they not see that Allah Who created them, He was mightier than them in power? And they denied Our revelations.
Such was Ad, they rejected their Lord’s signs, disobeyed His messengers, and followed the command of every tyrant.
11:59And such were A'ad. They denied the revelations of their Lord and flouted His messengers and followed the command of every froward potentate.
26:139And they denied him; therefor We destroyed them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.
41:15As for A'ad, they were arrogant in the land without right, and they said: Who is mightier than us in power? Could they not see that Allah Who created them, He was mightier than them in power? And they denied Our revelations.
54:18(The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings.
Then, when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, “This is a cloud bringing us rain.” No, it is what you sought to hasten: a wind with painful punishment
11:89And, O my people! Let not the schism with me cause you to sin so that there befall you that which befell the folk of Noah and the folk of Hud, and the folk of Salih; and the folk of Lot are not far off from you.
46:24Then, when they beheld it as a dense cloud coming toward their valleys, they said: Here is a cloud bringing us rain. Nay, but it is that which ye did seek to hasten, a wind wherein is painful torment,
So, We unleashed upon them a furious wind for days of misfortune, making them taste the disgrace of this world. But the punishment of the Hereafter is far worse, and they will not be saved.
41:13But if they turn away, then say: I warn you of a thunderbolt like the thunderbolt (which fell of old upon the tribes) of A'ad and Thamud;
41:16Therefor We let loose on them a raging wind in evil days, that We might make them taste the torment of disgrace in the life of the world. And verily the doom of the Hereafter will be more shameful, and they will not be helped.
51:41And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them.
54:19Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity,
69:6And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind,
69:7Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees.
Plucking people as if they were uprooted palm trunks.
54:20Sweeping men away as though they were uprooted trunks of palm-trees.
69:7Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees.
They were pursued by a curse in this world and will be on the Day of Judgment. Indeed, ‘Ad denied their Lord, so away with ‘Ad, the people of Hud! and We destroyed them. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them do not believe.
7:72And We saved him and those with him by a mercy from Us, and We cut the root of those who denied Our revelations and were not believers.
11:60And a curse was made to follow them in the world and on the Day of Resurrection. Lo! A'ad disbelieved in their Lord. A far removal for A'ad, the folk of Hud!
25:38And (the tribes of) A'ad and Thamud, and the dwellers in Ar-Rass, and many generations in between.
25:39Each (of them) We warned by examples, and each (of them) We brought to utter ruin.
26:139And they denied him; therefor We destroyed them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.
29:38And (the tribes of) A'ad and Thamud! (Their fate) is manifest unto you from their (ruined and deserted) dwellings. Satan made their deeds seem fair unto them and so debarred them from the Way, though they were keen observers.
53:50And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad,
54:18(The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings.
And Ad and Thamud, it became clear to you from their ruins how We dealt with them. Satan made their deeds seem appealing, diverting them from the path, though they were capable of seeing.
29:38And (the tribes of) A'ad and Thamud! (Their fate) is manifest unto you from their (ruined and deserted) dwellings. Satan made their deeds seem fair unto them and so debarred them from the Way, though they were keen observers.
51:42It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust.
69:8Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them?
To each, We gave warnings, and then We destroyed them utterly.
25:39Each (of them) We warned by examples, and each (of them) We brought to utter ruin.
So how severe was My punishment and warning!
54:21Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings!
“Remember how He made you successors after ‘Ad and settled you in the land, building palaces in its plains and carving homes into its mountains. So remember Allah’s blessings, and do not spread corruption.”
7:74And remember how He made you viceroys after A'ad and gave you station in the earth. Ye choose castles in the plains and hew the mountains into dwellings. So remember (all) the bounties of Allah and do not evil, making mischief in the earth.
