Disciples

Then We sent Our messengers after them, and We sent Jesus, son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. We placed compassion and mercy in the hearts of his followers. But monasticism, they invented it, seeking Allah’s pleasure, yet they did not uphold it as they should. Even so, We granted those who truly believed their reward, but many among them strayed.

57:27Then We caused Our messengers to follow in their footsteps; and We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow, and gave him the Gospel, and placed compassion and mercy in the hearts of those who followed him. But monasticism they invented - We ordained it not for them - only seeking Allah's pleasure, and they observed it not with right observance. So We give those of them who believe their reward, but many of them are evil-livers.

You who believe, be Allah’s supporters, just as Jesus, son of Mary, said to the disciples, “Who will be my supporters for Allah?” The disciples said, “We are Allah’s supporters.” Then a group from the Children of Israel believed, while another disbelieved. So, We strengthened those who believed against their enemies, and they became dominant.

3:52But when Jesus became conscious of their disbelief, he cried: Who will be my helpers in the cause of Allah? The disciples said: We will be Allah's helpers. We believe in Allah, and bear thou witness that we have surrendered (unto Him).

61:14O ye who believe! Be Allah's helpers, even as Jesus son of Mary said unto the disciples: Who are my helpers for Allah? They said: We are Allah's helpers. And a party of the Children of Israel believed, while a party disbelieved. Then We strengthened those who believed against their foe, and they became the uppermost.

And remember when I inspired your disciples to believe in Me and My messenger. They declared, “We believe! Bear witness that we submit to You.”

3:52But when Jesus became conscious of their disbelief, he cried: Who will be my helpers in the cause of Allah? The disciples said: We will be Allah's helpers. We believe in Allah, and bear thou witness that we have surrendered (unto Him).

5:111And when I inspired the disciples, (saying): Believe in Me and in My messenger, they said: We believe. Bear witness that we have surrendered (unto Thee) "we are muslims".

They prayed, ‘Our Lord, we believe in what You have revealed and follow the messenger, so count us among the witnesses.’

3:53Our Lord! We believe in that which Thou hast revealed and we follow him whom Thou hast sent. Enrol us among those who witness (to the truth).

They asked, “O Jesus, son of Mary, can your Lord send down a table spread with food from the heavens?” He replied, “Fear Allah, if you are truly believers.”

5:112When the disciples said: O Jesus, son of Mary! Is thy Lord able to send down for us a table spread with food from heaven? He said: Observe your duty to Allah, if ye are true believers.

They said, “We wish to eat from it, to reassure our hearts, to know you have spoken the truth, and to be among its witnesses.”

5:113(They said:) We wish to eat thereof, that we may satisfy our hearts and know that thou hast spoken truth to us, and that thereof we may be witnesses.

Jesus, son of Mary, prayed, “O Allah, our Lord, send down to us a table from the heavens, a feast for us and for those who come after us, a sign from You. Provide for us, for You are the best of providers.”

5:114Jesus, son of Mary, said: O Allah, Lord of us! Send down for us a table spread with food from heaven, that it may be a feast for us, for the first of us and for the last of us, and a sign from Thee. Give us sustenance, for Thou art the Best of Sustainers.

Allah said, ‘O Jesus, I will take you and raise you to Myself, purify you from those who disbelieve, and make your followers superior until the Day of Judgment.

3:55(And remember) when Allah said: O Jesus! Lo! I am gathering thee and causing thee to ascend unto Me, and am cleansing thee of those who disbelieve and am setting those who follow thee above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then unto Me ye will (all) return, and I shall judge between you as to that wherein ye used to differ.
