The arrogant chiefs among his people said, “O Shu’ayb, we will surely expel you and those who believe with you from our town unless you return to our way.” He said, “Even if we detest it?”
7:88The chieftains of his people, who were scornful, said: Surely we will drive thee out, O Shu'eyb, and those who believe with thee, from our township, unless ye return to our religion. He said: Even though we hate it?
They said, “O Shu’ayb, does your prayer command us to abandon what our ancestors worshipped or to stop managing our wealth as we please? You are surely gentle and wise.”
11:87They said: O Shu'eyb! Doth thy way of prayer command thee that we should forsake that which our fathers (used to) worship, or that we (should leave off) doing what we will with our own property. Lo! thou art the mild, the guide to right behaviour.
