Moses Meets Pharaoh
“Go to him and say, ‘We are messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We bring you a sign from your Lord, and peace be upon those who follow guidance.’”
20:47So go ye unto him and say: Lo! we are two messengers of thy Lord. So let the children of Israel go with us, and torment them not. We bring thee a token from thy Lord. And peace will be for him who followeth right guidance.
26:16And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds,
26:17(Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us.
We granted Moses nine clear signs, ask the Children of Israel.
17:101And verily We gave unto Moses nine tokens, clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty). Do but ask the Children of Israel how he came unto them, then Pharaoh said unto him: Lo! I deem thee one bewitched, O Moses.
27:12And put thy hand into the bosom of thy robe, it will come forth white but unhurt. (This will be one) among nine tokens unto Pharaoh and his people Lo! they were ever evil-living folk.
28:32Thrust thy hand into the bosom of thy robe it will come forth white without hurt. And guard thy heart from fear. Then these shall be two proofs from your Lord unto Pharaoh and his chiefs. Lo! they are evil-living folk.
Then, We sent Moses after them with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them, but they acted arrogantly; they were a wicked people. See how the fate of the corrupt unfolded!
7:103Then, after them, We sent Moses with our tokens unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they repelled them. Now, see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters!
10:75Then, after them, We sent Moses and Aaron unto Pharaoh and his chiefs with Our revelations, but they were arrogant and were a guilty folk.
11:96And verily We sent Moses with Our revelations and a clear warrant
11:97Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they did follow the command of Pharaoh, and the command of Pharaoh was no right guide.
14:5We verily sent Moses with Our revelations, saying: Bring thy people forth from darkness unto light. And remind them of the days of Allah. Lo! therein are revelations for each steadfast, thankful (heart).
23:45Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our tokens and a clear warrant
23:46Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they scorned (them) and they were despotic folk.
We sent Moses with Our signs: “Lead your people out of darkness into light, and remind them of Allah’s days of favour.” In this are signs for those who are patient and grateful.
37:114And We verily gave grace unto Moses and Aaron,
40:23And verily We sent Moses with Our revelations and a clear warrant
40:24Unto Pharaoh and Haman and Korah, but they said: A lying sorcerer!
44:17And verily We tried before them Pharaoh's folk, when there came unto them a noble messenger,
51:38And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant,
Moses said, “O Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of all worlds
7:104Moses said: O Pharaoh! Lo! I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds,
44:18Saying: Give up to me the slaves of Allah. Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you.
When he came to them, Pharaoh said, “Moses, I think you are bewitched.”
17:101And verily We gave unto Moses nine tokens, clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty). Do but ask the Children of Israel how he came unto them, then Pharaoh said unto him: Lo! I deem thee one bewitched, O Moses.
Pharaoh said, “Did we not raise you among us as a child? And you stayed among us for many years.
26:18(Pharaoh) said (unto Moses): Did we not rear thee among us as a child? And thou didst dwell many years of thy life among us,
And you committed that deed you committed, and you were ungrateful.”
26:19And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates.
Moses said, “I did it then, when I was astray.
26:20He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray.
And I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord granted me wisdom and made me one of the messengers.
26:21Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him).
Is that the favour you taunt me with, while you have enslaved the Children of Israel?”
26:22And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel.
“‘It has been revealed to us that punishment awaits those who deny and turn away.’”
20:48Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away.
Do not exalt yourselves above Allah. I come to you with clear authority.
44:19And saying: Be not proud against Allah. Lo! I bring you a clear warrant.
Pharaoh said, “Who is your Lord, O Moses?”
20:49(Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses?
26:23Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds?
He said, “Our Lord is the One who created all things and guided them.”
20:50He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright.
Moses said, “The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all between them, if you would be certain.”
26:24(Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief.
I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord, lest you stone me.
44:20And lo! I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord lest ye stone me to death.
And if you do not believe me, then leave me alone.”
44:21And if ye put no faith in me, then let me go.
Pharaoh said to those around him, “Do you not hear?”
26:25(Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not?
Pharaoh asked, “Then what is the fate of earlier generations?”
20:51He said: What then is the state of the generations of old?
Moses said, “Your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors of old.”
26:26He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers.
Pharaoh said, “This messenger of yours, who is sent to you, is surely insane.”
26:27(Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman!
Moses said, “My Lord knows best who brings guidance from Him and whose end will be best. The wrongdoers will never succeed.”
28:37And Moses said: My Lord is Best Aware of him who bringeth guidance from His presence, and whose will be the sequel of the Home (of bliss). Lo! wrong-doers will not be successful.
Moses said, “Lord of the East and the West and all between them, if you would understand.”
26:28He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand.
Moses replied, “Their knowledge is with my Lord, recorded in a book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets.”
20:52He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither erreth nor forgetteth,
He is the One who made the earth a cradle for you and set pathways upon it, sending down rain from the sky, bringing forth diverse plants.
20:53Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation,
Eat and graze your livestock, surely, in this are signs for those of understanding.
20:54(Saying): Eat ye and feed your cattle. Lo! herein verily are portents for men of thought.
From the earth We created you, to it We will return you, and from it We will bring you forth again.
20:55Thereof We created you, and thereunto We return you, and thence We bring you forth a second time.
Pharaoh said, “O nobles, I do not know of any Allah for you other than myself. So kindle a fire for me, O Haman, and build me a tower so I may look at the Allah of Moses. But I think he is a liar.” Thus, Pharaoh’s evil deeds were made appealing to him, and he was barred from the right path. His schemes led only to ruin.
28:38And Pharaoh said: O chiefs! I know not that ye have a god other than me, so kindle for me (a fire), O Haman, to bake the mud; and set up for me a lofty tower in order that I may survey the god of Moses; and lo! I deem him of the liars.
40:36And Pharaoh said: O Haman! Build for me a tower that haply I may reach the roads,
40:37The roads of the heavens, and may look upon the god of Moses, though verily I think him a liar. Thus was the evil that he did made fairseeming unto Pharaoh, and he was debarred from the (right) way. The plot of Pharaoh ended but in ruin.
Pharaoh said, “If you take any Allah besides me, I will surely imprison you.”
26:29(Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners.
Obligated to speak nothing but the truth about Allah. I have come to you with clear proof from your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with me.”
7:105Approved upon condition that I speak concerning Allah nothing but the truth. I come unto you (lords of Egypt) with a clear proof from your Lord. So let the Children of Israel go with me.
26:30He said: Even though I show thee something plain?
