Waters Recede

It was said, “O earth, swallow your water, and O sky, cease!” The flood receded, the command was fulfilled, and the Ark came to rest on Mount Judi. It was declared, “Away with the wrongdoing people!”

11:44And it was said: O earth! Swallow thy water and, O sky! be cleared of clouds! And the water was made to subside. And the commandment was fulfilled. And it (the ship) came to rest upon (the mount) Al-Judi and it was said: A far removal for wrongdoing folk!

Noah called to his Lord, saying, “My Lord, my son was part of my family, and Your promise is true. You are the most just of judges.”

11:45And Noah cried unto his Lord and said: My Lord! Lo! my son is of my household! Surely Thy promise is the truth and Thou are the Most Just of Judges.

Allah said, “O Noah, he was not of your family; his deeds were unrighteous. Do not ask Me about matters you do not understand. I warn you, lest you be among the ignorant.”

11:46He said: O Noah! Lo! he is not of thy household; lo! he is of evil conduct, so ask not of Me that whereof thou hast no knowledge. I admonish thee lest thou be among the ignorant.

Noah said, “My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking what I do not understand. If You do not forgive me and show mercy, I will be among the losers.”

11:47He said: My Lord! Lo! in Thee do I seek refuge (from the sin) that I should ask of Thee that whereof I have no knowledge. Unless Thou forgive me and have mercy on me I shall be among the lost.

“And say: ‘My Lord, grant me a blessed landing, you are the best of those who bring to shore.’”

23:29And say: My Lord! Cause me to land at a blessed landing-place, for Thou art Best of all who bring to land.

We saved him and his family from the great disaster.

37:76And We saved him and his household from the great distress,

And We made his descendants the survivors.

37:77And made his seed the survivors,
