Aftermath

Then after them, We raised another generation.

23:31Then, after them, We brought forth another generation;

And We sent to them a messenger from among themselves: “Worship Allah, you have no Allah but Him. Will you not be mindful?”

23:32And we sent among them a messenger of their own, saying: Serve Allah, Ye have no other Allah save Him. Will ye not ward off (evil)?

But the elite among his people, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had indulged in worldly ease, said, “He’s just a man like you, he eats what you eat and drinks what you drink.

23:33And the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had made soft in the life of the world, said: This is only a mortal like you, who eateth of that whereof ye eat and drinketh of that ye drink.

If you obey a man like yourselves, you’ll be losers.

23:34If ye were to obey a mortal like yourselves, then, lo! ye surely would be losers.

Does he promise that when you die and become dust and bones, you’ll be brought back to life?

23:35Doth he promise you that you, when ye are dead and have become dust and bones, will (again) be brought forth?

Far-fetched, far-fetched is what you’re promised!

23:36Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised!

These are unseen events We reveal to you. You did not know them, nor did your people before this. So be patient, the outcome belongs to the righteous.

11:49This is of the tidings of the Unseen which We inspire in thee (Muhammad). Thou thyself knewest it not, nor did thy folk (know it) before this. Then have patience. Lo! the sequel is for those who ward off (evil).
