Self-Inflicted

Whoever disbelieves, his disbelief is against him.

30:44Whoso disbelieveth must (then) bear the consequences of his disbelief, while those who do right make provision for themselves -

Allah does not wrong people, but they wrong themselves.

10:44Lo! Allah wrongeth not mankind in aught; but mankind wrong themselves.

43:76We wronged them not, but they it was who did the wrong.

They only destroy their own souls, though they do not realize it.

6:26And they forbid (men) from it and avoid it, and they ruin none save themselves, though they perceive not.

Indeed, We have warned you of a punishment near at hand. On the Day a person will see what their hands have sent ahead, and the disbeliever will cry, “Oh, if only I were dust!”

78:40Lo! We warn you of a doom at hand, a day whereon a man will look on that which his own hands have sent before, and the disbeliever will cry: "Would that I were dust!"

Avoid both open and hidden sins. Those who commit wrongdoing will be repaid for what they have earned.

6:120Forsake the outwardness of sin and the inwardness thereof. Lo! those who garner sin will be awarded that which they have earned.

They will call out, “Were we not with you?” The believers will reply, “Yes, but you deceived yourselves, you waited, you doubted, and false hopes deluded you, until Allah’s command arrived.

57:14They will cry unto them (saying): Were we not with you? They will say: Yea, verily; but ye tempted one another, and hesitated, and doubted, and vain desires beguiled you till the ordinance of Allah came to pass; and the deceiver deceived you concerning Allah;

And Satan will say when the matter is settled, “Allah gave you a true promise, but I deceived you. I had no authority over you except to invite, and you responded. So do not blame me, blame yourselves.

14:22And Satan saith, when the matter hath been decided: Lo! Allah promised you a promise of truth; and I promised you, then failed you. And I had no power over you save that I called unto you and ye obeyed me. So blame not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can ye help me, Lo! I disbelieved in that which ye before ascribed to me. Lo! for wrong-doers is a painful doom.

So, We seized each of them for their sins, some by storm, some by blast, some by the earth swallowing them, and some by drowning. Allah did not wrong them; they wronged themselves.

29:40So We took each one in his sin; of them was he on whom We sent a hurricane, and of them was he who was overtaken by the (Awful) Cry, and of them was he whom We caused the earth to swallow, and of them was he whom We drowned. It was not for Allah to wrong them, but they wronged themselves.

80:33But when the Shout cometh

On that Day, one will flee from his brother.

80:34On the day when a man fleeth from his brother

And his mother and father.

80:35And his mother and his father

And his spouse and children.

80:36And his wife and his children,

Each person, on that Day, will have enough concern for himself.

80:37Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others).

So, they will confess their sins, away with the people of the Blaze.

67:11So they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames.

If only the wrongdoers could see the punishment awaiting them, they would realize that all power belongs to Allah

2:165Yet of mankind are some who take unto themselves (objects of worship which they set as) rivals to Allah, loving them with a love like (that which is the due) of Allah (only) - those who believe are stauncher in their love for Allah - Oh, that those who do evil had but known, (on the day) when they behold the doom, that power belongeth wholly to Allah, and that Allah is severe in punishment!
