Enjoyment in this world
Know that this worldly life is but play, amusement, adornment, boasting among yourselves, and rivalry in wealth and children. It is like rain that delights the farmer, then dries and withers, turning to dust. In the Hereafter, there is severe punishment or forgiveness and pleasure from Allah. This life is nothing but a fleeting illusion.
29:64This life of the world is but a pastime and a game. Lo! the home of the Hereafter - that is Life, if they but knew.
57:20Know that the life of the world is only play, and idle talk, and pageantry, and boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children; as the likeness of vegetation after rain, whereof the growth is pleasing to the husbandman, but afterward it drieth up and thou seest it turning yellow, then it becometh straw. And in the Hereafter there is grievous punishment, and (also) forgiveness from Allah and His good pleasure, whereas the life of the world is but matter of illusion.
Is the one who seeks Allah’s pleasure like the one who incurs His wrath? Their final home is Hell.
3:162Is one who followeth the pleasure of Allah as one who hath earned condemnation from Allah, whose habitation is the Fire, a hapless journey's end?
Those who prefer this fleeting life over the Hereafter, who turn others away from Allah’s path and seek to distort it, these are far astray.
14:3Those who love the life of the world more than the Hereafter, and debar (men) from the way of Allah and would have it crooked: such are far astray.
But those who disbelieve, who live only for pleasure and eat like cattle, the Fire will be their home.
47:12Lo! Allah will cause those who believe and do good works to enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow; while those who disbelieve take their comfort in this life and eat even as the cattle eat, and the Fire is their habitation.
They may enjoy this world briefly, but then they will return to Us
10:70This world's portion (will be theirs), then unto Us is their return. Then We make them taste a dreadful doom because they used to disbelieve.
16:117A brief enjoyment (will be theirs); and theirs a painful doom.
That is because they preferred this worldly life over the Hereafter.
16:107That is because they have chosen the life of the world rather than the Hereafter, and because Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk.
Say, "Enjoy your disbelief for a little while
39:8And when some hurt toucheth man, he crieth unto his Lord, turning unto Him (repentant). Then, when He granteth him a boon from Him he forgetteth that for which he cried unto Him before, and setteth up rivals to Allah that he may beguile (men) from his way. Say (O Muhammad, unto such an one): Take pleasure in thy disbelief a while. Lo! thou art of the owners of the Fire.
Those who do not expect to meet Us, who are content with this worldly life and feel secure in it, and those who neglect Our signs.
10:7Lo! those who expect not the meeting with Us but desire the life of the world and feel secure therein, and those who are neglectful of Our revelations,
And they say, “Our Lord, hasten our fate before the Day of Reckoning!”
38:16They say: Our Lord! Hasten on for us our fate before the Day of Reckoning.
They ask you to hasten the punishment, but Allah never breaks His promise. A day with your Lord is like a thousand years of what you count.
22:47And they will bid thee hasten on the Doom, and Allah faileth not His promise, but lo! a Day with Allah is as a thousand years of what ye reckon.
29:53They bid thee hasten on the doom (of Allah). And if a term had not been appointed, the doom would assuredly have come unto them (ere now). And verily it will come upon them suddenly when they perceive not.
29:54They bid thee hasten on the doom, when lo! hell verily will encompass the disbelievers
Whoever desires this fleeting life, We hasten for him what We will, then consign him to Hell.
17:18Whoso desireth that (life) which hasteneth away, We hasten for him therein what We will for whom We please. And afterward We have appointed for him hell; he will endure the heat thereof, condemned, rejected.
Do you feel secure that He will not cause the land to swallow you or send a storm upon you?
17:68Feel ye then secure that He will not cause a slope of the land to engulf you, or send a sand-storm upon you, and then ye will find that ye have no protector?
On the Day when those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire: “You wasted your good things in your worldly life and enjoyed them. So today you are repaid with the punishment of humiliation for your arrogance on earth without right, and for your defiance.”
46:20And on the day when those who disbelieve are exposed to the Fire (it will be said): Ye squandered your good things in the life of the world and sought comfort therein. Now this day ye are rewarded with the doom of ignominy because ye were disdainful in the land without a right, and because ye used to transgress.
Is one whom We promised a good reward, which he will attain, like one whom We granted enjoyment in this life, but who will be brought to judgment on the Day of Resurrection?
28:61Is he whom We have promised a fair promise which he will find (true) like him whom We suffer to enjoy awhile the comfort of the life of the world, then on the Day of Resurrection he will be of those arraigned?
