No Lords

that we worship none but Allah, associate nothing with Him, and do not take one another as lords besides Him.’

3:64Say: O People of the Scripture! Come to an agreement between us and you: that we shall worship none but Allah, and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for lords beside Allah. And if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered (unto Him).

4:36And serve Allah. Ascribe no thing as partner unto Him. (Show) kindness unto parents, and unto near kindred, and orphans, and the needy, and unto the neighbour who is of kin (unto you) and the neighbour who is not of kin, and the fellow-traveller and the wayfarer and (the slaves) whom your right hands possess. Lo! Allah loveth not such as are proud and boastful,

And that He is the Lord of Sirius

53:49And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius;

They took their rabbis and monks as lords besides Allah, as well as the Messiah, son of Mary, though they were commanded to worship only one Allah. There is no Allah but Him.

9:31They have taken as lords beside Allah their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah son of Mary, when they were bidden to worship only One Allah. There is no Allah save Him. Be He Glorified from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)!

Say, ‘O People of the Book, let us come to a common word between us, that we worship none but Allah, associate nothing with Him, and do not take one another as lords besides Him.’

Nor would a true messenger ever command you to take angels or prophets as lords.

3:80And he commanded you not that ye should take the angels and the prophets for lords. Would he command you to disbelieve after ye had surrendered (to Allah)?
