Permission to Fight

Permission is granted to those who are fought against, because they were wronged, and God is capable of granting them victory.

22:39Sanction is given unto those who fight because they have been wronged; and Allah is indeed Able to give them victory;

Those who were unjustly expelled from their homes for saying, “Our Lord is God.” Had God not repelled some people by means of others, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, where God’s name is much mentioned, would have been destroyed. God will surely support those who support Him.

22:40Those who have been driven from their homes unjustly only because they said: Our Lord is Allah - For had it not been for Allah's repelling some men by means of others, cloisters and churches and oratories and mosques, wherein the name of Allah is oft mentioned, would assuredly have been pulled down. Verily Allah helpeth one who helpeth Him. Lo! Allah is Strong, Almighty -
