Believe in what I have sent down, confirming what is already with you. Do not be the first to reject it

A chapter We have sent down and made its rulings binding.

We have given you seven oft-repeated verses and the glorious Quran.

These are Allah’s signs, which We recite to you in truth. You are indeed one of the messengers.

We have sent down to you clear signs and examples from those before you, and advice for the mindful.

But whoever rejects Allah’s signs, Allah is swift in reckoning.

Thus, We clarify the signs, so they may say, “You have studied this.

Lest you say, “The Book was only sent to two groups before us, and we were unaware of their teachings.”

They traded away Allah’s revelations for a cheap price, turning others away from His path. How evil is what they did!

So, woe to those who write the Scripture with their own hands and then say, 'This is from Allah,' seeking a small gain. Woe to them for what their hands have written, and woe to them for what they earn.

Do not trade My revelations for a fleeting gain.

Indeed, those who conceal what Allah has revealed in the Book and trade it for a small price consume nothing but fire in their bellies. Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Judgment, nor will He purify them, and they will face a painful punishment.

Those who trade Allah’s covenant and their oaths for a fleeting gain will have no share in the Hereafter. Allah will neither speak to them nor look at them on the Day of Judgment, nor will He purify them. They will face a painful punishment.
