Inventing a lie

Say, “Had Allah willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you. I have lived among you for a lifetime before this, do you not understand?”

10:16Say: If Allah had so willed I should not have recited it to you nor would He have made it known to you. I dwelt among you a whole lifetime before it (came to me). Have ye then no sense?

Say, “Have you considered the provisions Allah has sent down for you, which you have divided into lawful and unlawful?” Say, “Did Allah permit this, or do you invent lies against Him?”

10:59Say: Have ye considered what provision Allah hath sent down for you, how ye have made of it lawful and unlawful? Hath Allah permitted you, or do ye invent a lie concerning Allah?

But the disbelievers fabricated lies about Him. Most of them lack understanding.

5:103Allah hath not appointed anything in the nature of a Bahirah or a Sa'ibah or a Wasilah or a Hami, but those who disbelieve invent a lie against Allah. Most of them have no sense.

See how they fabricate lies against Allah? That alone is enough for a clear sin.

4:50See, how they invent lies about Allah! That of itself is flagrant sin.

Who is more unjust than one who fabricates lies about Allah or denies His signs?

6:21Who doth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie against Allah or denieth His revelations? Lo! the wrongdoers will not be successful.

10:17Who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie concerning Allah and denieth His revelations? Lo! the guilty never are successful.

11:18Who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie concerning Allah? Such will be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses will say: These are they who lied concerning their Lord. Now the curse of Allah is upon wrong-doers,

Who does greater wrong than one who fabricates lies about Allah while being called to submit?

61:7And who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie against Allah when he is summoned unto Al-Islam? And Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.

They want to extinguish Allah’s light with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers detest it.

61:8Fain would they put out the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light however much the disbelievers are averse.

Whoever fabricates lies against Allah after this, they are the true wrongdoers.

3:94And whoever shall invent a falsehood after that concerning Allah, such will be wrong-doers.

They will be presented before their Lord, and witnesses will say

11:18Who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie concerning Allah? Such will be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses will say: These are they who lied concerning their Lord. Now the curse of Allah is upon wrong-doers,

Those who turn others away from Allah’s path and seek to make it crooked, they are the ones who deny the Hereafter.

11:19Who debar (men) from the way of Allah and would have it crooked, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter.

How are you turned away?

10:32Such then is Allah, your rightful Lord. After the Truth what is there saving error? How then are ye turned away!

39:6He created you from one being, then from that (being) He made its mate; and He hath provided for you of cattle eight kinds. He created you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, in a threefold gloom. Such is Allah, your Lord. His is the Sovereignty. There is no Allah save Him. How then are ye turned away?

40:69Hast thou not seen those who wrangle concerning the revelations of Allah, how they are turned away? -

“Has he fabricated a lie about Allah, or is he possessed?”

34:8Hath he invented a lie concerning Allah, or is there in him a madness? Nay, but those who disbelieve in the Hereafter are in torment and far error.

He’s just a man inventing lies about Allah; we won’t believe him.”

23:38He is only a man who hath invented a lie about Allah. We are not going to put faith in him.

Have they not seen what lies before them and behind them of the sky and the earth? If We will, We could cause the earth to swallow them or the sky to fall upon them. Surely in this is a sign for every servant who turns back to Allah.

34:9Have they not observed what is before them and what is behind them of the sky and the earth? If We will, We can make the earth swallow them, or cause obliteration from the sky to fall on them. Lo! herein surely is a portent for every slave who turneth (to Allah) repentant.

By Allah, you will be questioned about your fabrications.

16:56And they assign a portion of that which We have given them unto what they know not. By Allah! but ye will indeed be asked concerning (all) that ye used to invent.

Let the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter incline toward their words, let them be pleased with them, and let them commit what they will.

6:113That the hearts of those who believe not in the Hereafter may incline thereto, and that they may take pleasure therein, and that they may earn what they are earning.
