Ridicule

When the disbelievers see you, they mock, saying, “Is this the one who speaks against our gods?” Yet they reject the mention of the Most Merciful.

21:36And when those who disbelieve behold thee, they but choose thee out for mockery, (saying): Is this he who maketh mention of your gods? And they would deny all mention of the Beneficent.

It has already been revealed to you in the Book: when you hear Allah’s signs being denied and mocked, do not sit with those who do so unless they turn to another topic; otherwise, you will be like them.

4:140He hath already revealed unto you in the Scripture that, when ye hear the revelations of Allah rejected and derided, (ye) sit not with them (who disbelieve and mock) until they engage in some other conversation. Lo! in that case (if ye stayed) ye would be like unto them. Lo! Allah will gather hypocrites and disbelievers, all together, into hell;

Blessed is He who, if He wills, can grant you better than that, gardens beneath which rivers flow, and palaces.

25:10Blessed is He Who, if He will, will assign thee better than (all) that - Gardens underneath which rivers flow - and will assign thee mansions.

Say: “My Lord cares not for you if you do not call upon Him. But since you have denied, the punishment is inevitable.”

25:77Say (O Muhammad, unto the disbelievers): My Lord would not concern Himself with you but for your prayer. But now ye have denied (the Truth), therefor there will be judgment.

The messenger said, “My Lord, help me, they’ve called me a liar.”

23:39He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me.

O believers! Do not take as allies those who mock your faith, whether from the People of the Book or the disbelievers.

5:57O Ye who believe! Choose not for guardians such of those who received the Scripture before you, and of the disbelievers, as make a jest and sport of your religion. But keep your duty to Allah if ye are true believers.

We send messengers only as bearers of good news and warnings, but the disbelievers argue with falsehood to undermine the truth. They mock My signs and what they are warned about.

18:56We send not the messengers save as bearers of good news and warners. Those who disbelieve contend with falsehood in order to refute the Truth thereby. And they take Our revelations and that wherewith they are threatened as a jest.

They dismissed the truth when it came to them, but soon they will face the consequences of their mockery.

6:5And they denied the truth when it came unto them. But there will come unto them the tidings of that which they used to deride.

So, the evil of their deeds overtook them, and what they mocked surrounded them.

16:34So that the evils of what they did smote them, and that which they used to mock surrounded them.

Yet you marvel, while they mock.

37:12Nay, but thou dost marvel when they mock

And when reminded, they pay no heed.

37:13And heed not when they are reminded,

And when they see a sign, they ridicule it.

37:14And seek to scoff when they behold a portent.

Yet if they see a sign, they turn away and say, “Continuous magic.”

54:2And if they behold a portent they turn away and say: Prolonged illusion.

They denied and followed their desires, but every matter reaches its conclusion.

54:3They denied (the Truth) and followed their own lusts. Yet everything will come to a decision

They say, “This is nothing but obvious magic.

37:15And they say: Lo! this is mere magic;
