Regret
The wrongdoer will bite his hands, saying, “If only I had taken the path with the Messenger!
25:27On the day when the wrong-doer gnaweth his hands, he will say: Ah, would that I had chosen a way together with the messenger (of Allah)!
Woe to me! If only I had not taken so-and-so as a friend!
25:28Alas for me! Ah, would that I had never taken such an one for friend!
And they say, “When we are lost into the earth, will we really be resurrected?” No, they deny the meeting with their Lord.
32:10And they say: When we are lost in the earth, how can we then be re-created? Nay but they are disbelievers in the meeting with their Lord.
If only you could see the guilty, bowing their heads before their Lord: “Our Lord, we have seen and heard, send us back, and we will do good. We are now convinced.”
32:12Couldst thou but see when the guilty hang their heads before their Lord, (and say): Our Lord! We have now seen and heard, so send us back; we will do right, now we are sure.
And those who had wished for his status the day before said, “Indeed, Allah extends and restricts provision as He wills. Had Allah not been gracious to us, He could have made the earth swallow us too. Indeed, the disbelievers never succeed.”
28:82And morning found those who had coveted his place but yesterday crying: Ah, welladay! Allah enlargeth the provision for whom He will of His slaves and straiteneth it (for whom He will). If Allah had not been gracious unto us He would have caused it to swallow us (also). Ah, welladay! the disbelievers never prosper.
So turn away from them. On the Day the caller summons them to something dreadful
54:6So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) on the day when the Summoner summoneth unto a painful thing.
They will emerge from their graves with humbled eyes, like scattered locusts
54:7With downcast eyes, they come forth from the graves as they were locusts spread abroad,
Rushing toward the caller, the disbelievers will say, “This is a difficult day.”
54:8Hastening toward the summoner; the disbelievers say: This is a hard day.
