Quran 91, Ash-Shams (The Sun) ⓘ

91:1By the sun and his brightness,

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا

91:2And the moon when she followeth him,

وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَاهَا

91:3And the day when it revealeth him,

وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّاهَا

91:4And the night when it enshroudeth him,

وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَاهَا

91:5And the heaven and Him Who built it,

وَالسَّمَاءِ وَمَا بَنَاهَا

91:6And the earth and Him Who spread it,

وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَاهَا

91:7And a soul and Him Who perfected it

وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّاهَا

91:8And inspired it (with conscience of) what is wrong for it and (what is) right for it.

فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا

91:9He is indeed successful who causeth it to grow,

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا

91:10And he is indeed a failure who stunteth it.

وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ دَسَّاهَا

91:11(The tribe of) Thamud denied (the truth) in their rebellious pride,

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَاهَا

91:12When the basest of them broke forth

إِذِ انْبَعَثَ أَشْقَاهَا

91:13And the messenger of Allah said: It is the she-camel of Allah, so let her drink!

فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ نَاقَةَ اللَّهِ وَسُقْيَاهَا

91:14But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings).

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ بِذَنْبِهِمْ فَسَوَّاهَا

91:15He dreadeth not the sequel (of events).

وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَاهَا
