Quran 90, Al-Balad (The City) ⓘ

90:1Nay, I swear by this city -

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ لَا أُقْسِمُ بِهَذَا الْبَلَدِ

90:2And thou art an indweller of this city -

وَأَنْتَ حِلٌّ بِهَذَا الْبَلَدِ

90:3And the begetter and that which he begat,

وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ

90:4We verily have created man in an atmosphere:

لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي كَبَدٍ

90:5Thinketh he that none hath power over him?

أَيَحْسَبُ أَنْ لَنْ يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ

90:6And he saith: I have destroyed vast wealth:

يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُبَدًا

90:7Thinketh he that none beholdeth him?

أَيَحْسَبُ أَنْ لَمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ

90:8Did We not assign unto him two eyes

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَهُ عَيْنَيْنِ

90:9And a tongue and two lips,

وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ

90:10And guide him to the parting of the mountain ways?

وَهَدَيْنَاهُ النَّجْدَيْنِ

90:11But he hath not attempted the Ascent -

فَلَا اقْتَحَمَ الْعَقَبَةَ

90:12Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Ascent is! -

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْعَقَبَةُ

90:13(It is) to free a slave,

فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ

90:14And to feed in the day of hunger.

أَوْ إِطْعَامٌ فِي يَوْمٍ ذِي مَسْغَبَةٍ

90:15An orphan near of kin,

يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ

90:16Or some poor wretch in misery,

أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ

90:17And to be of those who believe and exhort one another to perseverance and exhort one another to pity.

ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْمَرْحَمَةِ

90:18Their place will be on the right hand.

أُولَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ

90:19But those who disbelieve Our revelations, their place will be on the left hand.

وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ

90:20Fire will be an awning over them.

عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُؤْصَدَةٌ
