Quran 96, Al-Alaq (The Blood Clot) ⓘ

96:1Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth,

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ

96:2Createth man from a clot.

خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ

96:3Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous,

اقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ

96:4Who teacheth by the pen,

الَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ

96:5Teacheth man that which he knew not.

عَلَّمَ الْإِنْسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ

96:6Nay, but verily man is rebellious

كَلَّا إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لَيَطْغَى

96:7That he thinketh himself independent!

أَنْ رَآهُ اسْتَغْنَى

96:8Lo! unto thy Lord is the return.

إِنَّ إِلَى رَبِّكَ الرُّجْعَى

96:9Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth

أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يَنْهَى

96:10A slave when he prayeth?

عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّى

96:11Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah)

أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَى الْهُدَى

96:12Or enjoineth piety?

أَوْ أَمَرَ بِالتَّقْوَى

96:13Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward?

أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى

96:14Is he then unaware that Allah seeth?

أَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَرَى

96:15Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock -

كَلَّا لَئِنْ لَمْ يَنْتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًا بِالنَّاصِيَةِ

96:16The lying, sinful forelock -

نَاصِيَةٍ كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ

96:17Then let him call upon his henchmen!

فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُ

96:18We will call the guards of hell.

سَنَدْعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَ

96:19Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah).

كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَاسْجُدْ وَاقْتَرِبْ
